I'm about to sell my Canon 1D Mark III and would like to get the shutter count before listings on eBay.
This was a back up camera and has been in my camera bag for years.
It's in mint condition. i'm getting it has approximate less then 10 thousand actuations "click" although I"m not so sure.
Any tips how to get shutter count of this Canon 1D Mark III would be very appreciated.

no programs available to accurately tell shutter count for 1dsiii or 1diii. canon service is the only entity i'm aware of that has the diagnostic software.

This may not be good for 1D series camera potential buyer whom would like to know about camera shutter
and to determine the value $ for it. Just have to take there words for it. Since only Canon can finding camera currently shutter actuation.

Seeing as how a shutter replacement is only a few hundred bucks, combined with the fact that they outlast their specs as often as failing early, I believe the shutter count has only minor relevance to the price of a used camera.
I also found that the shutter count could be transposed from one camera to another (1ds/1dsII) when saving/loading camera settings via CF card.
