It's an amazing camera for sure (this coming from a 20 year Canon devotee!)
I shot this portrait of a Tuskegee Airman with the D800 85/1.4. It was the first time I had ever held the camera. The image has cost me $5200 so far and the damage is climbing rapidly...............
First off.... amazing image... I hate when people compare digital to film but in this case I must admit when I first looked at this photo it reminded me of Henning Roalkvam's work and I thought wow...
Secondly, Im curious how this image has "Cost you" that much? (if you don't mind my asking)
Hi all, I'm new here but have had a D800E for a couple of months. I'll be receiving my 70-200VR2 any day now and look forward to posting a few shots here when (and if) I come up with anything worthy...

But I had to chime in and say what a great shot this one is. The detail this camera brings is astonishing and I never cease to be shocked and what lies within.
