wow.
Very powerful and artistic set! I really dig the BW and heavy contrast, I think it fits the style of photos very very well. I'm not sure I get the "engagement" feel out of these, except for a few.
If I were them, I would have #23 very large on my wall. Though her glove makes her hand look awkward

It's not about usual "engagement" shoots

I really like this set a lot but I agree with Thorne. It isn't really an engagement session. Engagement sessions have to show a connection between the subjects. Your subjects seem a little uninterested in a each other. This is more of a shoot you would see in a magazine for an ad for fedora hats or scarves or something. Great job on the processing although some of the blacks are so deep that you can't separate their clothes from the background. I love this set but more from an artistic standpoint.

As far as what people are saying about "engagement shoot" or not.... yes, this looks like a fashion shoot. But if this is what the client wants, who cares!! Obviously the OP has a distinctive style and eye, and that's what they're being hired for!

man, SOOO good.
your compositions are so meaningful and deliberate. so many great elements that make my eye wander around your photos making it a real pleasure to view.
in my opinion, you are the best photographer on this forum.

ben, one other thing to think about, what if this is what the PHOTOGRAPHER wants? And then he finds clients who want what he wants? win win, no?
i say this because i contacted albert to potentially do a family lifestyle session for my family. i want HIS vision for my family.
i think we are saying the same thing, however, i think we sometimes make the mistake of forgoing our own vision in lieu of the 'norm' or what 'clients want'.
