Don't they have similar pixel densities?

the D800 has the same pixel density as the NEX-5N not the NEX-7.

There's also a Konica M 50/1.2 on eBay right now, which is every bit as pricey as that grouping of letters and numbers implies.

Have you all seen this? Nanoha Ultra-Macro Lens

Very limited application, but it's an interesting repurposing of microscope optics. I assume the market for this is going to be as limited as the application, but I'm curious to see if it excites anyone here.

Enlargement in the range of 4-5x. Very interesting, but super-limited...

He has also announced, that he will publish a test of classic Minolta SR-Mount lenses.

I have an adapter on the way for my EOS version. I'll let you know how it works (though I know they are now making a native emount version).

do you have the E16mm? The fisheye converter might be a better option. I have a peleng 8mm and it's unwieldy on the nex.

Textile manufacturers who need to show the quality of their weave. Stamp and Coin collectors who want to make multi-shot panos of their prized possessions for billboard-size prints. Forgers who want their work to pass inspection down to a microscopic level. None of whom want to spend much more than a grand on the camera and lens. It's probably just my limited imagination, but that's what I've come up with so far.

Do you mean the rather large and bulky 8mm f3.5 one thats been out, or the much better looking compact f2.8 one that doesn't appear to be out yet ?

The new(er) more compact one - I couldn't figure out why there are some reviews, but nothing available for sale.

I have the large one, in Pentax mount.
I only tested it once and I was really surprised how sharp it was...
It has some weird deformation, my CG artist complained it wasn't a real fish.
But it might be fun, I guess

A bit uncertain as to which thread to post this, but anyone got any idea of how the CV APO LANTHAR 90MM LTM-mount compares to the good old contax-g 90/2.8?

It does use a different projection than most fisheyes, but actually, it's a projection that's rare because it's harder to design:

Well, I had both and I liked the Contax more from the IQ point of view, but not the focusing via adapter. The CV is a nice sharp modern lens, but no speed daemon and while it is a good lens, it has nothing spectacular to it. The G is more Zeiss-like, if you want that and can cope with the focusing then it's a great lens.

Regards, Stefan

Here is the EOS mount Rokinon/Samyang fisheye on a NEX-5n:

Works well. I actually like it on this more than on my 60d.

With some reluctance, I am considering ditching the 5N for the 7. Main reason is that I can barely see the rear screen in direct sunlight. I am dismayed there's no UWA solution for the 7... come on Sigma 8-16 in E mount!

You might really consider the 5N EVF. It's tilt function is fantastic, and you'll still be able to use your wides. Or, there's the Sony wide zoom that's supposed to come out this year, if you go with the NEX-7.

I like how streamlined my NEX-7's EVF is, but there are a number of things about my 5N's EVF that I liked better: tilt, on/off button, a little easier to get a tight seal around my eye.

Hello douglasf13: (and others) -

How do you "pre-set" or set-up and change settings for
your aperture and/or shutter speeds with the NEX-5N, vs. the nice
dial - control knobs on the NEX-7?

How does one conveniently make adjustments to their settings?

Also, do you use a LCD screen hood and/or protector, if so which one?

Thanks,

Have a nice day...

Ed
