Oh well, time will tell.

Wait a minute... The X100 EVF information overlay works with the lens cap on! Explain me that.

No info shows when the lens cap is on - that's what lets you know the lens cap is on with the X100.

Well it certainly does on mine! In EVF mode that is.

I was referring to in OVF mode. In EVF mode with the lens cap on, is it not just a black image! As far as info, even if you can see a set shutter speed/ F-stop etc, obviously the histo should show no data right? Obviously, your not getting any real scene data. I don't understand what your point is about the lens cap being on - you should not get any aperture movement but, so what?

I guess I misunderstood you. When you said...

Tariq Gibran wrote:
Is that even an option? EVF, LCD and most of the info - such as live histogram - come from this...

... I figured you were referring to the EVF...

Sure, but I I also was only referring to the relevant info that is based on the scene/ subject (note the reference to the live histogram above). Ie, most people don't go around framing things with a blackened out EVF due to the lens cap being on! Anytime the lens cap is off and the shutter is not half pressed, I believe the aperture blades will dance/change if the lighting changes constantly. If your not shooting in changing light, this is probably not an issue though.

Never mind that, how about this lens: dchome.net

BTW, does it look to you like the CV15 shot has a slight blue shift on the left side? Difficult to say with the sample because it could be a result of mixed lighting...

Woa! That's what I have been waiting to see. So, third party adapters are available already but have yet to show up on ebay. That's great news indeed.

But how can you trust these results, all the lenses have filters!

Right, but taobao? A google search shows a lot of these. They are agents who buy for you locally I guess - how in the world would you know which one to trust and which one to use for this? I'm sure the adapter will show up soon on ebay.

I don't trust anything until I get a chance to actually use the camera.

The results don't really mean anything yet. I'm just impressed that an adapter is already being made. Kipon is fairly popular as far as adapters go so it should be readily available soon.

I'll wait for the Fuji adapter. I still have the sneaking suspicion that it might have focusing cams to allow parallax correction to work in the OVF. Otherwise if it's just a bare flange I dont know why it's taking them so long to release it.

Talking about release, any news on XPro1 ETA outside Japan?

It looks similar to what I see on GXR-M, and it's not purple like the shift on NEX.

at first glance it looks easily correctable
TBH, if that's all the vignetting and colour shifitng, for most my shots I wouldnt even bother to fix it

I think you guys get it before us in the U.S. The date for the U.S. I have read is end of March around the 28th.

The obvious reason Fuji is not immediately making the adapter available is that they want to sell you their lenses. I'm betting the Fuji adapter is pretty simple but priced at $250 or so. Heck, they just released their pricing on X-Pro1 accessories and the simple plastic grip acc. is close to $100, the battery just under $70 (and unlike the x100, I'm not sure there are good, cheap, $10 alternatives).
