Really Really nice work and a great point made! I really enjoy being a gear head, but post such as these make me think about one day trying to be a photographer :-))

Trench you are so much of a better picture taker than I will ever be. I'll try my dad gum hardest to ketch up by buying a D800
If they all come in at the same time I may have a few to sell as I will be overstocked
Howdy, Mike! Nah, I probably just take more...but thanks! Re: possible overstock...I'm not the guy for
one of the twins, but I'd be interested in picking up another D3s when the D4 hits and prices drop some.
Nah, Will could take these pics with a pinhole. "How much better with a D800." Give me a f'g break.
Can't wait to see some pony/cowgirl work, Will. Soon as I get off my Zeiss glass buying spree, I'm a gonna grab me a 70-300VR as the dedicated D7k lens.

Maybe that's my problem, I need to start drinking for my pics to get better. Gotcha. it WILL calm the itchy trigger finger/camera shake...up to a point.

Thanks a lot, Greg. I think there's some of each in all of us, eh?! Shootin' with the consumer stuff makes me stop and think,
what with the lack of controls and anemic AF/1/4000th SS...a guy's gotta really pay attention to get the "automatic"
captures I'm used to with the good stuff. Excuse me while I dig myself out of the menu.

Nice work as usual Mr. Monkey. Must be all that beer.
Seriously though you are probably going to get a D800 aren't you?
Many thanks, Avi Absolutely no interest in the 'twins' many more MP...now a D4, I'm droolin'.
Harsh reality would be picking up another D3s on the cheap, when prices drop....a lot! Shootin' the
horseheads' will require another Pro size body and commensurate framerate/High ISO/very best AF.

As always, great work, sir Hey, Tony...thanks! You'll be glad to know there's a barrel race/membership event on the 18th.
I'm freakin' pumped! Of course cooler weather won't allow for ahem quite the "exposures" but you know
I'll do my best to bring home the goods. Venue changed from prior years locale to my home turf. Oh, Mommy!!
The Series starts in April, every Thurs night...it'll be great to cover these gals again.
good post! I'm sick of the D800 talk. There's always going to be a "D800" on the horizon so it's not a big deal. Technology is going to keep improving but the bottom line is all you need to do is go out and shoot and not worry about that stuff.

Excellent, Will. It'll be great to see those shots of yours - they indeed have so much LIFE to them and that what impresses me. I hear ya on the "exposure" issue, but, all good things come to those who wait
As always Will, truly good stuff. When I see what you do with that 70-300, I always get cranked and motivated. Once again, thanks for another great set.
BTW, we just finished off our growler .......
Firestone Double Jack. Good Stuff!

I'm a thankin' ya, James.

Howdy, Rolf...thanks a lot. Thought the Double Jack only came in 22's
Well you take great pics, and now I know your secret and I'm going to quit over thinking and more drinking. OT: How did you know I've been struggling with hand holding the d700? I think I miss the weight of the d2x over the d700.
