Hey Mark, you did pretty well with the light you had. Exposure and colors look right on. Brave man shootin'
the TC wide open, stopping down a bit to f8 may have crisped 'em up some. SS a little low in the 1st @1/640th with
an effective 750mm FOV. I'm usually in 9 pt AF-C for BIF this size and predictable flight. Keep at it and don't be afraid
of running the ISO up on that D7K if you need to.
These are great, especially the first. I have noted your SS. I am going to put the 1.4 TC on next time. A little less reach but the AF should work better and hopefully the quality will be a tad better too.
Will, is that really what your ISO was set at? Seems that it was not a bright day (clouds on the horizon in shot 1) but you have a high SS for F5.6 @ 200 ISO.
Great stuff Will Do you shoot RAW for your BIF? I did on the last shoot but hit that buffer on the D7K real quick. I'm wondering if I should not worry and just go for getting the exposure right
Very cloudy here today so will go out at the weekend. Thanks again for all the advice. I really appreciate it.
Will - The 70-300 was the second lens I bought 3 yrs ago when I began testing the Darkside opportunity. As you know coming over from Canon getting used to the No-Red line takes about 35 seconds. I couldn't believe how well this lens performed in a plain black package.
I was going to comment on one of your Sandi shots but I think you have found your true talent shooting 'horses' being riden by Sandi. Good capture!

Posts like this are a great encouragement to folks like me, an old guy without much bucks who loves photography. Even the "cheepie" Nikons, the 18/55, the 18/105 and the 5/200 vrs , are quite capable of putting photography in the hands of the fella or gal taking the photo!

Thanks, glad to help. Had to sell off my "good" stuff (200/300/200-400) recently and am making do
with less now. Do I miss them...absolutely, funny thing is I'm still sellin' as many prints. Go figure!
