p.1 #1 · Minimum you've shot a wedding with

Inspired by this thread, which is archived: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/874605

As with the OP of that thread, this is NOT me asking "how little do I need to shoot a wedding?".

It's me asking for the minimum gear you used to shoot a wedding for which you were the official photographer. I'm hoping it'll be a way to share interesting stories or anecdotes.

To be honest I have always taken everything but the kitchen sink with me.

However, I have gone hours with just a 1DsII and 35L

When I put the 35L on it kind of holds me in 'story telling mode' a bit more. I think I need a spare....

5D and 35L is 85% of the wedding for me.
I shot a whole engagement session on a Polaroid land camera last year.

Signed out a Bronica, 50mm (I think), and a metz flash gun out of college for my first wedding.

I was fortunate to borrow cameras from college/work for years for years as I couldn't afford a camera of my own.

All my life I have been a lucky bastard.

I can't speak for the mullety types, but I'm offended...or at least my hairy area(s) are.

The minimum I used was a 50 1.2 AIS, and that was at the strict request of the bride.

Peace
Peter

Evening Peter,

I pray that you and your self-professed non-mullet don't take offence to my banter, it's been a long held in-joke with the FM Brits that I have way way way too much hair.

They are of course just jealous of my flowing locks....like Prince Charming.........if he'd spent the last ten years racking up Dominos loyalty cards.

In fear of dating myself, I'll play: Pentax K1000 with a 50mm f/1.4 and an off-brand flash. That, along with a pocketful of Kodachrome. Bride and groom loved the results, and looking back I loved the simplicity.
