All beautiful shots Kirk with the 1st and last for me. The exposure and angle of the sun on the stilt is fabulous! Curious why you chose CW on the stilt and matrix on everything else? Also, are you shooting auto iso on these?
cheers,
Ray
Thanks for your very kind words Ray, much appreciated.
I chose CW for the Stilt as the sun was getting higher and brighter and CW does a better job of correctly exposing all of the white on the Stilt. I was shooting auto ISO, in fact I almost always shoot auto ISO.

Hey, I think I recognize this pond! Lovely work in unbeatable light, Kirk. And you must've been on your stomach for the water-level perspective. Just make sure no-one runs over you in that overflow parking lot!
Best Wishes,
Steve
Thanks so much Steve... yes, it does get pretty crowded at times in the parking lot.

Oh what a day Kirk! I just love that upturned needle like bill of the avocet...it is just such a great looking bird. They whole series is really pleasing to view.
Eric
Thanks Eric, yeah it was a good morning as it usually is at this pond. Love when that happens.
The Avocets and Stilts are two of my favorite birds and opportunities will get better soon as mating season quickly approaches.

Super, super shots Kirk.
Wonderful mirror perfect reflection in # 5 and great angles on these shots throughout.
Martin
Hey thanks so much Martin. Believe it or not, #5 almost didn't make the cut because I was really having a tough time coming up with a crop that I liked... but the mirror-like reflection is pretty cool.

Real beauties, Kirk. I guess I need some of that light for that combo to work as well for me. Of course, those birds would help as well.
Tony
Thanks Tony, really appreciate it.
I must admit I'm a little disappointed at times with the slower than expected focusing with the 1.4 TC. Oh well, just makes it more of a challenge and certainly more rewarding when the focus is spot on. Can't have everything I guess.
