Thanks for the very gracious words Paul, much appreciated.
All of my shots are always handheld. The 1.4 definitely slows the focus down which is fine for shots like these, but can be a little frustrating at times for birds in flight.
Hey, I think I recognize this pond! Lovely work in unbeatable light, Kirk. And you must've been on your stomach for the water-level perspective. Just make sure no-one runs over you in that overflow parking lot!
All beautiful shots Kirk with the 1st and last for me. The exposure and angle of the sun on the stilt is fabulous! Curious why you chose CW on the stilt and matrix on everything else? Also, are you shooting auto iso on these?
Oh what a day Kirk! I just love that upturned needle like bill of the avocet...it is just such a great looking bird. They whole series is really pleasing to view.
