I have a brand new body with about 110 clicks on it. I want to upgrade to a D7000. $400 is a bit low for me but how about $600 for it? I don't have the box but I didn't buy it for the box!! ! Anyway, let me know if you are interested. Thanks!
OK, no problem. So stepping up $400 for a D7000 would be worth it? I would spend the $400 on some good glass, but that is just me. Good luck in your search. If you come up empty, you know how to get in touch with me.
Your friend isn't likely to find a D90 at $400 quite yet. When the D300s replacement comes out, prices might get pushed down a bit. They still mostly seem to be selling for something higher than $500.
I also agree with Tim that spending the additional money on good glass or a nice tripod is a better idea.
I have a D90, Mint condition 22K clicks, shoots perfect. I am going to list it this evening as a kit with 18-105. Can sell the body alone for 475. you pay shipping and paypal fee. I'll throw in a fast card 32mb/sec. no marks at all.
the plastic screen cover is marked but I use film protector on the camera glass. Battery indicator shows NEW. Its used but a 9 thanks, Tim
I think you're looking for a deal that doesn't exist @ $400. For that money, I'd probably keep my D90 as a 2nd/backup body if/when I get a (still hypothetical) D400.
I'd adjust his budget/parameters. A D7K for $1000 vs. a D90 + some nice glass for $1000 for a beginner? The D90 is a better deal. I'd look for a D90 around $500-$550 (which is pretty much where they're selling today) and maybe a Tamron f/17-50 f/2.8 or Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Those are both great lenses and would leave money on the table for a flash...
