Price: $6,500.00 Payment method: PayPal Item condition: 9+ Shows little or no signs of wear Shipping instructions: Flexible; buyer pays.
02/19/2012 - I've decided to hang on to the lens for now, but don't be surprised if she's back up for sale soon.
Excellent condition - 9/10 with no markings on the optics. Perhaps 1 or two small chips in the paint can be seen.
Date code UX - manufactured in 2009.
The lens has been very well cared for and has lived its life in lens coat camo (included in sale). It is difficult to put such a nice lens up for sale, but it is somewhat of a specialty lens for me these days and I could use the funds for other things.
Sale includes: Trunk with keys, original paperwork, lenscoat camo cover (~$100 value), original leather lens cap, hood, Don Zeck cap (this thing is wonderful!, ~$50 value), original strap.
I'm very flexible with what shipping options are used and also am flexible with payment methods, but I am asking for 6,500 net to me - i.e. I would rather avoid PayPal taking such a large portion of money.
Canadian buyers - we can use EMT (super easy) if you're interested as I have an account with TD.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

I should add that I may be interested in the following for a partial trade:
Where are you located in Alaska? I'm in Whitehorse, Yukon and have been considering this lens (deciding between this and the new 600mkII). Wondering if you are anywhere close enough for local pickup and smuggling across the border!!

I am in Fairbanks - what's that, 600 miles or so? Maybe "close" by northern standards
Too bad that you didn't contact me a few days ago - I could have put the lens onto one of the Quest musher's sleds!
HaHa, that would have been hilarious. I'm still thinking about it but I don't think I can commit to it right now. I'm just getting pulled towards the new 600 despite the ridiculous price on it. Therefore I may not make up my mind till the 600 starts shipping (late April). However, early april when all the swans show up here may make me jump on the 500. I'll keep thinking on it and keep an eye on your sale to see if its still available. Let me know if you are ever heading to Whitehorse, because I've never seen/held one of these big lenses and I would love to try one out and would compensate you even for a test run if you brought it to town.
