Some small portion of your inner being has to feel bad when someone spirals rapidly out of control. I'm almost certain that is happening here tonight. I suggest you keep this in mind before you lash out against this person.

This had also occurred to me. People don't just pull the pin without a reason. Everyone is just standing around with cans of petrol pretending they are looking out for the integrity of the forum.
while i appreciate the sentiment, there's also something important to be said for addressing inappropriate behavior, supporting loved ones who are being vilified, and expecting a level of accountability from community members who are supposed to be adults.
mental illness/substance abuse/downward spiral does not excuse threatening, wild behavior. i've steered clear of this place - and its inhabitants - for quite some time, but i just can't stand by and enable sociopathic behavior to rule.
I'm all for a heated debate... but the FM Wedding Photographer troll-fest has been a real turn off over the last months (maybe even a year or so now...)
Two friends of mine who shoot for government and do moonlighting, came over to FM last year at my suggestion. Both left after a month because of the confrontational issues. Unfortunately when rules are not enforced and evenly applied, people will take advantage.

Compared to other forums, FM is not as bad. Tell your friends to give it another shot.

I agree with Robin. I came to FM a couple years ago because the forum I was in previously was just so... well, evil. Don't you dare ask a question like a newbie in the wedding forum, lest you feel the wrath.
Sure, there are times that people are tough in the FM forums, but I've felt that most of it is brutal honesty -- which, frankly, I think we need more of. Like that thread recently where the photog lost a free wedding to a newbie, and he ranted about it. A lot of members put him in his place, and I think it was necessary. If he was open to understanding, he could have improved himself and his website, but I don't think he was in that place.
I haven't read last night's dealing, too busy working on my website last night, but I'll check it out now.
