I agree with Robin. I came to FM a couple years ago because the forum I was in previously was just so... well, evil. Don't you dare ask a question like a newbie in the wedding forum, lest you feel the wrath.
Sure, there are times that people are tough in the FM forums, but I've felt that most of it is brutal honesty -- which, frankly, I think we need more of. Like that thread recently where the photog lost a free wedding to a newbie, and he ranted about it. A lot of members put him in his place, and I think it was necessary. If he was open to understanding, he could have improved himself and his website, but I don't think he was in that place.
I haven't read last night's dealing, too busy working on my website last night, but I'll check it out now.
Largely agree Ron. That said, I also agree with what Chuck was saying earlier. I've just read the thread he's talking about and although it started on completely the wrong foot, it got out of hand REAL quick. It wasn't a good look and not what I consider normal for FM. That in no way excused the OP but it was not FM's finest hour.
There should be a forum rule that says that when someone posts a thread like this suggesting peace in another thread, they MUST include a link to the unpeaceful thread. I mean shit... I'm sitting here waiting for an effing meeting and I'm sick and tired of angry birds... it'd be MUCH more entertaining to read some ANGRY POSTERS.
Deleted, Ale....there were many threads. It was like FM apocalypse last night. The only remaining one is the "wtf chuck" thread, which was the first one...

Two friends of mine who shoot for government and do moonlighting, came over to FM last year at my suggestion. Both left after a month because of the confrontational issues. Unfortunately when rules are not enforced and evenly applied, people will take advantage.
I think linking last nights happenings to any other incidents on FM is wrong. Last night was an anomaly.
Sure, FM has some strong personalities. But so what? Sift though it, associate with others that you 'like', and get the information you want/need.
FM is still the best forum that I have found (despite its shortcomings).

Same here man...some people asked if I saw the thread but I am lost
Some petty internet drama from a confrontational person. I missed the starting point for teh whole thing, but it seemed like he disagreed vehemently with advice that other photographers were giving and expressed that disagreement in an obnoxious way. When people took steps to get him out of their hair, drama was brought to the forum and aired in a set of trolling posts from the drama queen.
Eventually mods shut it down, everyone goes back to their business.
We need FM UNCUT now. I'll pay $10 year to get access to all the deleted deliciousness.
I read the rhyming thread and that just whet my appetite.
Fred, give us the UNCUT access option
Oh and for the record Chuck accepted MY friend request... then again, that's prolly 'cause my FB name and my FM names don't match. So he doesn't know that THAT nice guy with the sexy-ass italian name is THIS byatch.
