Tim, thanks for throwing a monkey wrench into my work flow. I do like the results as evidenced by Conrad's previous pp compared to this action. It's quite noticeable improvement this way. Thanks again for sharing and I'll have to try it out.
You're welcome Herb.Do give it a fair shot, I do think you will love it!

Tim, I couldn't help but share my first run of this action. Now I need to slow down alot and pay more attention to what's going on. Good stuff here.
Bruce
You are off to a great start Bruce. Fort this shot bring up the the lower part of the curve just a touch and the bird will lighten up some

Yea but can it do florals
That is a great dedication to helping others Tim, not too many seem to want to share their PP secrets or flow. You and Tom have done an excellent job with Dave's Action..................and Dave has done an excellent job with his Action
Now maybe I will try it again! Very interesting on how we all arrive at our final results to present here.
Karl
Thank you Karl. Dave really did do a WONDERFUL job with this action. It is soooooo easy to use once you master it. Do give it another chance and always feel free to call me if you have questions!!!

Tim thanks for posting this, and special thanks to Dave for developing this. I have a few questions if I may
1. Why keep a Tiff file over a PSd and do you still keep the raw
2. You selected the subject in 3 before you run initial prep but on the copy the subject is not selected. Am I missing something here.
3. I dont think the prep for web reduces the PPI to 72 , do you do this as a separate step
Thanks
Paul
PM sent
1 use either it doesn't matter
2 the selection is still there where it matters
3 I don't reduce to 72

Many thanks Tim for sharing your workflow.
It's always interesting to see how others process their images.
I like to process mine without sharpening and safe them as tiff.
The next day I will have another look and do mostly some additional fine tuning.
But I don't have hundreds of great images to go through every week like you do.
Chris
Thanks for the thoughts Chris. I do something similar. I rarely work over my images the same day I take them. For some reason they look better to me the day after I shoot them!

Tim, Thanks for the tips. What really helps me is the action keeps me from over sharpening and messing up noise removal. Tried a floral or two and a landscape with decent results. Dick

thanks Tim for the time you spent on helping us, it is greatly appreciated.
I tried the action this morning and ran it on autopilot (without changing anything) to see how it compared to what I do in CS5. To my eyes i am very impressed. This took less than 1 minute (remember I changed nothing along the way).

Your amazing images are always a joy --- and it's wonderful that you're willing to pass along insights --- but a question: Is there an equivalent for LightRoom 3. Obviously since it not Photoshop it would be more limited --- just wondered if you might know.
Thanks Again for all the great images and the spirit of sharing.

The only way I can figure out to open up a Canon .cr2 image in Photoshop is to use the Adobe DNG convertor. Then I can open that up in Photoshop.
When I run the action I get a lot of popups saying this or that is unsupported or can't be done. The image just gradually gets unusable, so I guess I have an issue with Photoshop CS3. I've spent 4 hours now trying to use the action and am kind of embarrassed reading that others run through it in 1 minute

acr/cs3 should be able to digest a nikon or canon raw file
i used to process .cr2's in cs2 (i think)
I shoot nikon now and use cs5
try googling .cr2 and cs2 and i bet you will find the answer
