Many thanks Tim for sharing your workflow.
It's always interesting to see how others process their images.
I like to process mine without sharpening and safe them as tiff.
The next day I will have another look and do mostly some additional fine tuning.
But I don't have hundreds of great images to go through every week like you do.
Chris

Ok, 1image down...499,999 to go...just what I needed...have 8 years of digital photos to go through now...just to post 1done "manually" the old way and the second with Dave's action...there is a bit of a learning curve but I suspect not very steep....you do have to remember to change the color space and make sure its set to 16bit on ACR!
Thanks....I think
I'll remove the images if you want me to Tim
Eric
I am shocked at how well you lifted the slight shadow from being ever so slightly back lit and eliminated it! It almost looks front lit now! All that from the automated actions in this set? Amazing!

Thanks Tim. Truly a great post. I've been trying to learn things myself and the process is slow. I do much of my processing in Light Room, but this has some advantages. You are the Forum Master!!! Don

Took me a sec to get it (then I read the instructions more carefully) and suddenly everything just clicked. Great automated tool but also a great teaching tool as well. Nice combination of automation and customizability. Gonna have to play with it some more. Thanks so much for sharing!

[You misunderstand Steve, this is real time SAVER. Tom and I both use this action as our normal work flow and usually spend under 2 minutes an image.

OK, I'm printing your method out and will read it between forays at the Salton Sea this coming week; I'm taking my travel trailer Discovery there for 5 days. Thanks for sharing yours' and Tom's secret, Tim!

Yes I downloaded it. When I click on it it opens up Photoshop. After that I just slowly make the photo worse I'll try again but after a couple of hours getting nowhere I gave up last night
Yes Tim, you must be doing something wrong. With this action you should be able to make you pictures worse faster rather than slowly There is a learning curve for sure, just stick with it.

Thank you for this. Tim - now I know why I've hung on to all those raw files while waiting for my PS skills to improve. I really don't have a clue what I'm doing but here's one of about 70 images from April 24th 2007.
I imagine, with practice, that things will get better?
John
It's just like anything else John, with practice you get better and faster. Hang with it for a while and experiment
