Digital or film?

The shutter on the film M's is quite. Not so sure about the metal ones on the digital M's.

Perhaps I wanted too much. I think I've just been using the a850/a900 too much, which is a real "clacker" as you might say... not far from P67! Even the mirror+shutter on the Pentax K5 is pretty quiet to me, so I should probably have more faith that Fuji will realise that this is an important area.

Reading the Italian leak, there doesn't appear to be anything about "organic" sensor technology, or atleast not entirely... I think the other part of the technology implied that the sensor would behave similar to film with regard to wide angles and how the light is spread/recorded across the frame, but the Italian leak just mentioned the removable of the low pass filter being inspired by film.

$1299 incl 35/1.4?! Enough of this price speculation, it is too painful, I will wait for the actual thing now....

Nex7 was selling for 3k on the fleabay last month. Current pricing doesn't mean much.

One single Nex7 was sold for that money. That was hardly a trend

Also, I don't believe Fuji's main factory is underwater either.

The price speculation yo-yo is crazy. $1299 is an extremely attractive price point.

The translation is saying "comfortable pair of resistance" in manual focus. I'm guessing a more refined focus by wire than the X100.

So about $800 for the body only.

Why would they do it Who would consider a lens like that? It's a toy if it's true.
Sorry, but the camera might be nice, the sensor great, but I don't think the system
may be considered serious if lenses don't have "normal" MF. Plus they are too cheap
to be "great" I'm afraid. They might be like Pentax Limited lenses, but even those have
a regular MF focussing, nothing "by wire". I hope this is not true.

"Too cheap to be great" - wow, that just sounds great doesn't it! Let's wait and see what they're like, before we judge them. Heck, we don't even know the "real" prices yet and you're calling them toys.

As for focus by wire, I don't like it either, but will have to see how it handles hands on. I think the dof scale in viewfinder is a step forwards in some regards, so it's not all b&w.

Holy cow snowboarder, weren't you just in the Canon thread complaining about the G1X too?

Don't be such a Negative Nancy, wait and see what this camera has to offer before we shoot it down. I have faith in Fuji from the film days, so let's hope they pull through on this one.

Mirrorless Rumors:

1699 was a trick. Camera goes for the originally projected price of 1300: "That $1299 price includes the F1.4 lens kit"

Relax!

If so, I woud say my speculation about marketing research being done via Amazon with that initial price may have been correct. Honestly, at this point, I still don't think we have a clue regarding the actual price!

The lack of distance scale would indicate this as well.

I have no interest in Canon anymore, the way they deal with what people really want
could be a subject of a study... (3D anyone )
That comes from someone who was shooting Canon and their best glass for years.
But I wish Fuji all the best, just saying, "focus by wire" would be as bad to me (or worse)
as using a low rez LCD in 2012...

Complete with people declaring the product a total failure before even seeing what it is.

Don't forget they are only APS-c lenses, they only need to cover a smaller image circle. Those lenses must be easier to design - therefore the price has to be considered quite adequate. I personally would not pay 1k for a small sensor lens.

Cheers
