Has anyone thought about using C-mount lenses on the V1/J1? I was thinking about it as an experiment. I see a C-mount adapter to 1 system available online.

Shot some stuff with my V1

I'm really unhappy with the 2.8 performance in scene mode.

The images are flat even with bright flowers, the lcd shows different

don't know if it's the cam or the processor I use

Oh... Hmm. I don't use scene modes. Only manual exposure.

Well, it would be nice to see samples... as I only find a lens producing flat images if the light is flat. I find my 10mm to produce good results so far... But again, I use manual exposure for complete control of the image.

I have one ... not looking for one. Just got it. But when someone talks about finding the lens flat - I like to see what he is talking about instead of just saying it. Because I don't find my lens produces flat images at all.

2. Nikon V1 + FT1 + Tamron 70-300VC @300mm f/5.6

^ Looks good John. Really like the 105 combo + V1 myself as well. Curious, does the Tamron 70-300VC autofocus on the V1?

In most of the cases it is OK, sometimes it gets a bit confused, but it is manageable.

And thanks for your visit

First I didn't say the "lens" was flat; the image was. My original post indicated I wasn't sure if it was camera or processing. This is a new system and perhaps Picassa (my processor) didn't suit up for the V1 system. In addition I shoot raw; a further complication.

Next time I'll try Nikon transfer & View NX, they have updated for the V1 system

Rags - EVs for the two exposures are 1 stop apart. V1 pic is underexposed.

auto white balance used for both pics may also work differently based on mix of lighting sources in each pic.

Yup I know about the overexposure, that is the auto scene selection; It also lacks pop.

I went to View NX2 & tried different picture controls and found that landscape or vivid works better on this camera than standard setting (even in raw).

The V1 is a fun camera, and I have been playing around with the FT1 and the larger Nikkors as well ... all in all, I think I am enjoying it more than I expected ... I have put up some of the stuff here http://rohanthakursphotoblog.blogspot.de/search/label/Nikon%20V1 which I hope to regularly update.

Does anyone know if AF-S lenses that have been updated since are compatible with the FT1? Meaning, will they still AF?

Only the last versions of most of these lenses are listed in the lens compatibility chart -- even though some were only minor upgrades:

All of my AF-S lenses have AF with the V1 and FT1. The only lenses I have that do not AF are my AF-D lenses.
