Earlier this year I was photographing cute little songbirds... chirp chirp chirp... heard something coming through the brush... got excited thinking I was going to see a beaver, mink, coyote... came face to face with a few hungry bears... after loosing control of a few bodily functions my buddy screams "if this is how you are going to go... might as well go shooting!!!"
Snapped a few pictures... threw away my soiled garb and walked away shaking...but nobody could wipe that big dopey grin off my face.

Glad you survived this one Ari...cool story and nice pix...who snapped you and the bear?...did you phone your wife and say, "Hey take this cool picture of me just before I get mauled!" or was your buddy safe up a tree?
I was attacked by a blackbear when I was 16. A workparty working in the woods I was a part of got between a mother and her two cubs. From the looks of the photo, she's still nursing. Great shots and a lucky encounter for you and her!. Did you see any cubs? Benzzene

Buddy of mine snapped the shot with a point and shoot... wanted to submit a video to "when animals attack". About my wife... she can't stand this "photography thing" and if I get killed by a bear... in her words "it would make writing your obituary a lot easier..."

I should have specified why the subject line is "idiot photographer"... I DID get between her and her cubs... at least I think I did... I was kind of petrified at the time. I snapped about 10 frames before I decided to get the hell out of dodge. You got attacked? Where?
