I quite agree about context, Thomas. The full frame version has a somewhat different message of size and space, whilst the pano is about timelessness and grace.

I like the image associated with these comments the best of what you have presented. I also think that monochrome (or subtle duo/quad tone) is the way to go.
The false coloration attempts remind me of when Turner Broadcasting took their classic movie catalog and colorized great black and white movies. It didn't work for "Casablanca" and it doesn't work with this image. I guess I'm a literalist and traditionalist. I'd never see what's been presented in nature.
