p.1 #1 · Sold: Infrared Converted Canon D60 - Price Drop!

I bought a used D60 with the express purpose to convert it to IR. I bought the LifePixel IR filter and did the conversion myself. The camera has worked great, but added a baby to the mix last summer and time to go out and do IR landscape shoots is gone.

Includes:

  1. IR Converted Canon D60 Body
  2. Hardware Manual
  3. Original Canon BP-511 Battery
  4. Third-party BP-511 Battery
  5. 1GB Lexar CF Card

Issues: The previous owner had a crack in the flip-up flash cover. They "fixed" it with some electrical tape. The flash works fine; you just need to jiggle it a bit when it pops up to get it to fully extened. As I was using this for landscape work, that wasn't a big concern of mine. Also, I don't have the box or the data cable, as I didn't get them when I bought the body.

Price: $249 shipped in US (Outside US? Contact me)

Price drop! Normal used D60s are going for $200 and the conversion process is $250. Save $100!

I know that the camera needs to be calibrated after IR conversion. Could you kindly let us know what kind of calibration does it have?

Valdimore,

I assume you are talking about focus calibration. The focus calibration on this camera has not been changed from stock. Even though LifePixel "calibrates" a camera, it is really only to a specific lens and even there, only at one specific focal length. See this page on their website for more info.

I have been doing focus by first having the lens in AF mode, do a half-press to focus, switch the lens to MF, then use the IR mark on the lens. A couple of my lenses didn't have the IR mark, so I would just take a picture and then adjust until the image was sharp on the rear LCD.

Thanks for the question. Let me know if you have any others.
