I think there is one more thing that is lacking on 500px. You cannot show image on different sizes. Is there a way for user to see images at different resoultion ?

My guess is that many of these issues will be dealt with in the future.

Has anyone looked over the TOS? (terms of service) to see if any usage rights are given up when posting?
also, it appears there is really no way to at least semi-protect images. Right click to grab is enabled. Can't stop screen captures and temp file extractions, but that simple right-click feature stops many.
