Joakim: The last one is my clear favourite. Great shot.
Philippe: Congrats for the third one. I would have passed by without noticing. And thanks for the warm compliments and I really hope to see you soon, too.
Carsten: No comments, the complete second set is awesome.
Here's my second set, while the first one had been shot with my Pentax 645D and from tripod very slowly it's now time for the Sony A6000 and Touit 12/2.8. All shots spontaneously handheld.
@Joakim: great set! The staircase is very well composed and exposed, I like it a lot! Like Carsten, my favorite although is the third one, simple and moody.
@Philippe: good to know you well at home again (with all your luggage this time I hope)! What I like about your style and your first set: your images don't feel composed in an artificial sense. Rather, they take the viewer on a journey to explore the surroundings and linger over your findings... The first and last one are my favorites.
@Carsten: all three look perfect composed to me. great use of the foreground in the second one. I don't know what you do with the colors, they looked already excellent on your camera screen and shine on my monitor. Your third one is my favorite so far and also the most interesting scenery I've seen so far.
@Stefan: the 2nd one got most attention by me, the perspective is quite interesting (and the process to figure it out). Vertigo pure...
Great Stefan, you have managed to find some views that I didn't even see! I love the tree shot!
Markus, now I recognise your style again, the first set looked different I love the rays of light coming in, and the slightly washed-out look.
I don't do anything in particular for the colours. I do fiddle with the JPG colour profile in the camera until it gives me what I see with the eye (the JPG preview image in the raw uses the profile), more or less, and then I just expose for the screen. I stopped exposing to the right some time ago, because I find the look so much more important than highlights and shadows which aren't blown out. Only in extreme cases do I underexpose a little and then bring it up in post.
Wow! Pics which are, if anything, even stronger than the previous ones. Markus, you know that I am a card-carrying fan, and you just feed my addiction! Carsten, your shot with the red fabric is a lesson in how to harness excessive light. Stefan, with you, windows are not just windows...
I came to the meeting wanting to get shots I had not previously mastered, but which you showed me to be of interest. To some extent I achieved that. But, in the interim, all of you have also moved on and show more stuff that I wish I could do. Oh well...
Here are my next 3, still the same gear (didn't change all throughout the shoot)
Congratulations to all.
Joakim: First and third are great.
Ulff: Excellent post processing.
Phlippe: Love that style.
Carsten (2nd set):The 12mm and the objects in the last two make the difference.
Joakim, what a great set! Obviously the third one is a classic, and the first one a fine example of what this site had to offer. But it is the second one that really "gets" me. Super stuff!
Carsten, the same words apply! Your second shot just turned me green!
Stefan, your fist 2 are fine, but it is the third one that really moves me. Inspiring!
So much impressive and interesting images from all of you! My favorites are: Philippe: the first one (I like symmetry ); Joakim: can't decide; the first two are very moody; on the last one I can't stopping looking at; I agree with Carstens DOF comment, but also am impressed by the depth the image has and the fact, that I saw this star only as a distraction and now realize that it was worth way more attention. Carsten: the first for the colors, the last for the rendering; again: great colors and clarity! Stefan: the second one is my favorite composition! When I look at your images they appear a bit soft to me. If this is not intentional, I assume that this is due to no sharpening applied after downsampling?
Markus, your interpretations of the ample hall are, once more, simply awesome. As someone needs to follow you and suffer from the comparison, I volunteer, so that others can avoid that.
3 pics, still with the same gear. One of the ample hall, to show what it looks like without Markus behind the viewfinder. Two of the same scene, though not the same shot. Tell me which one you like best
Thanks Philippe! I like your composition in your first image. From the last two I like the color-version more. Somehow b&w does not work so well for me in these hallways, although I try it every time...

[...] A great time was had, photos were taken, food was eaten, drink were drunk, and we parted speaking of the next time in October, at Beelitz...
Who might be in? The following Beelitz dates are available, all in October: 5, 12, 18, 19, 26. Unfortunately the only Saturday is the 18th, and I cannot that day, since we have a rare family visit. That shouldn't stop anyone else though...
An update about Beelitz: I just had a look on the site and most dates are fully booked in the meantime. The only available date in october is the 26.. Since I have no time on the available dates in november and december, I just booked for october, the 26th. I would be delighted if anybody would like to join me. I recommend to decide this in time since I expect this date to be fully booked soon.
Stefan, you're right! I totally overlooked the Fotobase and only saw the normal tours (the Fotobase sounds more attractive although). Regarding the Fotobase: the dates are difficult for me, right now I've appointments on all of them. This may change, but only short-dated.
