Well, we came back! It was a very nice tour with loads of time. I found it too short, some found it longer than necessary, but all got some good shots. I really liked the location, but unfortunately, we had access to only 3 of the 62 buildings (some of the best though), and certain locations have changed since shots I have seen on Flickr, for example. The bed/operation room light shot which is so famous is longer possible to make, because both bed and light are gone. Nonetheless, there were a lot of good to great spots to shoot.
There isn't really an order this time, since we didn't walk anywhere, so posting can start as soon as people finish processing, I suppose. Several people I spoke to afterwards had shot somewhere around 200 shots, which is not that much, mostly caused by having to work with tripod most of the time. Others who did hand-held detail shots might have reaped a larger number of results.
Andreas Böttger of go2know.de was there again, gave us a brief introduction and let us loose, with only the mildest of warnings about not going onto the roof (!) This location, or at least these three buildings, were apparently much more safe than the Fleischfabrik.
I brought five lenses, two tripods (lent one to one of my friends) and my flash, but in the end I used only the tripod, camera, flash and 21 Distagon again, just like last time. I might need to revise my strategy here. Markus made us all jealous with his astounding Canon 17mm TS-E.
At the end of the day, we went to a nearby restaurant named "Gasthaus sum Pförtnerhaus" and had food and drinks, and chatted. All told, a very nice day, if a bit cold.
I will be going on more UrbEx tours over the winter months, but the general consensus was that the next big FM meet would be in spring sometime, probably not sooner than March. I will post here each time I book a tour so that anyone interested can join.
