Wow, the last two photos are amazing. The trees are practically swallowing the couple, but the fullness of her skirt keeps bringing my eye back. I also love the movement of her dress in the last one. What sort of lighting technique did you use for these?
Thanks Basianov, The last shot was just using ambient lighting...the one before was using a flash to fill in from the right hand side
TheGE..its ok...everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not here to flaunt my status or accredits. I just want to share what we do over in the far east, at the same time share my knowledge and techniques. Hopefully I can learn more from you guys and also maybe inspire some of you too.
Sorry if labeling myself as a Master Photographer created a stir, none of it was intended.
Singapore is hot and humid. I am impressed with the b&g running around under those kinda conditions.
This is how I am when in Singapore.... run from air conditioned hotel to air conditioned car. From air conditioned car, drive to air conditioned mall. Park at the nearest entrance and run into air conditioned mall. hahahaha....
OK once again folks, unlike North America, paper certification in Asia is huge! Most people in NA will probably ignore Master Photographer or whatever. But it is a strong marketing tool in Asia.

So are you going to remove it from your website and from your FM profile?
Or do you have something to defend your claim?
I showed you the facts that the title you claimed to have is misleading
I definitely don't believe your claim that you didn't know what you did!
Of course you didn't intend to create a stir or question you. While this may work with clients who don't know anything, claims like that can't fly with photographers. At least not with photographers who were in this business for more than a year or two.
Why would a guy from Singapore become a member of a UK association? It doesn't make any sense, unless you had it in your mind to mislead your clients since this organization has such an appealing name.
I do have a masters degree in photography that gives me a title of Master Photographer and it took me 7 years to get it
you definitely don't get it with 20 images.

He doesn't have to do anything you say or remove any title from his FM profile or website... if he has the title, he has the title... if you think its bogus that the organization uses that terminology, then take it up with that organization... You may have a masters degree in photography, but honestly.... that's just you saying so, you've not shown anything that proves as such. You haven't even been as brave as Bryan to show your work here. You may have gone to school for 7 years, but it hasn't stopped you from consistently making yourself look like an uptight, ego-maniacal ass.
Well, if the organization is called Master Photographers Association and one is a member of that organization, can't he/she call himself/herself Master Photographer? It's besides the point here that the name of the organization can be misleading but it is what it is what it is I don't see why Bryan calling himself Master Photographer is unethical in his case. Yes, it's for marketing purposes but it's not untrue.
Bryan, I truly enjoy your photos! they definitely stand out! Maybe slightly too much HDR feel for me but definitely beautiful photos. Do they print equally well?
Hey I had a somewhat of a celebrity client call me a "master photographer" in a testimonial, of course meaning "a master at photography" in her opinion, not in the accredited title sort of way. Do I use her testimonial? Sure do. I've seen accredited "Masters of Photography" devoid of any talent whatsoever.

I thought this explained the master photographer thing pretty well.
Funny how Americans tend to dismiss cultural differences as rubbish...

Most of the time I retouched the photos for print. So yeah on canvas or fine art print or even albums, the details printed are very important and colors etc
Love. I think you're pushing the post-processing to a point where it looks artistic, but not overdone. This is coming from someone who does little post processing. I really like these!

Dear fellow photographers...let's just put away the wet blanket of he-said-she-said and learn together from each of our work. This way everyone will get to benefit.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to do, each print that my couples buy and hang up, is an art installation to their home. Post processing, is definitely a requirement in my opinion, but it must be within the limits of acceptance by your clients. The way my piece turned out, is the way I hope to differentiate myself from other photographers in my own region. I guess it can become a unique selling point for you and allows clients to distinguish one photographer from another.
Allow me to share a before and after of something I shot yesterday night. Most of the time, my out of camera shots are relatively good. I dabbled with manual WB, shoot on manual, and use on-location lightings. So retouching will not kill me.
of the images posted, I like the lighting in 3 best- smooth balance between ambient and strobe. 5 is nice too- the back light would naturally create a 'glowy' look, so the post processing doesn't seem out of place. Most of the others are too HDR / high-pass filter for my taste.
