Carsten, I am loving that last urbex shot. The whole series is making me miss my old haunts back in Milwaukee.

Three more from the Fleischfabrik, all 28/2 ZF.2 at f/16, f/8, and f/4, respectively:

Nice set with the 28/2 Carsten, I also like your "not so typical" shot earlier.

Can I ask about using a light meter and ZF.1(non-cpu) lenses in a studio?
I think (will have to look) a Sekonic L-358 gives data as iso and Shutter. Because the camera modes are Manual and Aperture should I be looking at a meter that gives data as aperture. You can likely guess I have not used a light meter before but maybe you can also guess that I'd rather ask a dumb question then blow a dollar.

Aperture priority is perfect with ZF lenses. Just set the aperture on the lens, and let the camera figure out the exposure. Why do you want a light meter?

I think the only difference between ZF and ZF.2 lenses in the metering that takes place is that with ZF lenses, the matrix metering is not available. Other than that, everything else is the same, and controlled lighting should work fine.

In any case, I think it is more typical to set the camera to the synchronization speed, set the aperture you want for the effect you want, set the ISO to the base value, and just fiddle with the lights' power to get the right exposure. So you want manual mode anyway. You would only use the metering (camera or hand-held) as a starting point. After that, use the histogram, preferably tethering the camera to your computer.

Probably my three last one from my recent Fleischfabrik visit. 28/2 ZF.2 @ f/11, f/8, f/8, respectively:

Carsten - these are great shots ! I really enjoy going through them all. Exposure on all of these are very well controlled. Did you do any 'HDR' sort of thing ? WIndow shot with lace curtain is really good. Also the above three shots. Great capture of space, light, color.

No HDR, just single shots, carefully exposed. For some of them I did do multiple exposures, but I invariably ended up decided that letting the shadows go black and the highlights blow out was just more to my taste. Thanks!

I hear you. I am usually not a big fan of HDR unless it is really carefully done. These shots are exquisite.

Last one has really great 3D. That 28/2 is nice.

This past week was my week of reacquainting with 2/35. This is a lovely lens. Still have not decided whether to sell it or not.

I love the rendering here (but also in your 3 shots posted above). Seem like your 28/2 was a great aquisition, Carsten.

@carstenw and Ahamb...
Beautiful shots with the 28! Wow is all I can say! I have a customer who has a CY 2/28 he wants to get rid of...after looking at these pics above, I might seriously consider it!! Are they similar? the CY and ZE/ZF?

Finally I have a Zeiss lens incoming ... hopefully it will be the last lens that I buy in that focal length for a long, long time.

How do I get maximum amount of the famous 3D out of this lens?
