Truly he should have included the 45/2.8 100 jahre to complete the anniversary collection, at least that one in silver instead of the just a cheap paint on like the 135. And his Leica APO is way overpriced. I guess because it is the latest model that can accept the APO extender.
The 45/2.8 can be had for like pocket money in comparison.
(though being a super pancake - I dont know much about it's performance)
I want one because I have a Contax S2. That camera was almost hard to find without the "60 Jahre"-thing printed on the body, but eventually I found one.
My poor 50/4 infected by some nasty fungus (it has pretty strange crystal like structure, but as I dont have macro lens, cant show). Will be cleaned and fixed, hopefully..
Gotta love the Planar 50/1.4 (yes, serious nerd-warning but I dont mind, I took other shots too :-). This is CY flavor, from todays graduation day for a lot of 9-year olds with water combed hair and a 100 shots. But these are not about them, just the lens and the versatility.
A close shot opened up and a distance one closed down F/8 or so. Canon 5D2, cant help provide a crop, it is as sharp corner to corner.
Its most likely f4.. but quite possibly f2-2.8. Only some leaves are in focus.
Plus it does create some "blue haze" when its too contrasty (sun was I think at position of around 8 o'clock).
Yea and Fuji S5 Pro doesnt know term "per-pixel sharpness" thats not lens fault, its more like per-pixel blurriness. I tried it on my old KM-7D and it seemed really sharp. Dunno, there might be something wrong with my sample.. cant say its right or wrong on S5.
Thanks partitura. I wish I could be specific, but my PP consists mostly of trial and error until I like the result. I find the more time I spend, the better the result gets (until I overdo it, and have to start all over)
The first one I posted was just a sloppy two minute job, this one I spent about an hour on, and it's also better composed in my oppinion.
I use Color Efex 4, mostly the filters Darken/Lighten Center, Sunlight, White Neutralizer, Foliage, and a contrast enhancer. I experment with the settings, some enhancements are very very slight, but gives the photo that final interesting color palette, and a soft glow.
Then I use Viveza 2, which is a great tool for adding local modifications such as contast and sharpness (the boats) and to up/down the brightness, saturation, shadows etc of different areas of the photo, creating some dramatic lightning effects. Of course, this image was pretty dramatic to start with.
If you haven't used Color Efex and Viveza, I would recommend any photographer to try them out.
