While on the subject, Contax G 45/2 from today. A focal length I have trouble to find use for. But a very high quality lens as demonstrated by many (others) in the NEX thread.
I'm still not seeing much from / hearing much about the Distagon 2/25. It's a lens that's been on my radar for a while - it's a good FL on APS, especially with the possibility of a SpeedBooster making it also double as a "real 25mm". The specs look great, and it seems to have a really nice up-close rendering. But I've only seen maybe 10 pictures with one so far.
Well, I only noticed its sharp, has quite a bit of field curvate and distortion. More like "street" lens than for architecture or landscape. Looking at MTF, corners are most likely never sharp (probably due that field curvate). Yea and very heavy vignetting WO.

Anyone have any thoughts on it?
I havent tried it but I guess one reason for it not to become a blockbuster is that it falls in between the 21 and 28. Personally I couldnt justify getting it as I have the those two. But if the line-up lacks those and instead starts at 15/18 and next stop is 35 it would be a different matter :-)

These photos showed very high level of optical correction on Zeiss 135 APO. Impressive!
impressive indeed! the lack of bokeh fringing (actually it's still there, but you need to search for it at pixel-peep level) is what makes it truly stand out (thanks to the APO element). there is ZERO veiling wide-open. i can't see myself stopping down this lens often. ;-)
now all i need is the photography skill and i'm all set.

The portrait looks true to life. What camera you used for this shot?
