Thanks, W. In addition to Zeiss, I salute Nikon (jpgs/Capture NX2) for the greens, and the crispness to Samuli's/Luka's downsizing scripts.

Here are some street efforts from today, trying to fix focus on (mostly) walking people. Wideopen CY 100/2 and 5D2.

The Planar 100/2 is great. I think the one before the last one is really nice. The old guy has a nice expression.

Nice set of street scenes! P100 wide open is really impressive, especially the OOF blur. Did you correct vignetting? The 1-stop drop into the corner is hardly noticeable.

Just wondering if anyone here has read the "Is this sensor or lens reflections" thread? The problem is with a Leitaxed ZF21 on a Sony A850. Anyone here experienced any internal reflection issues with the ZE/ZF21? Or, does the A850's sensor reflect more than most other sensors?

I don't recall having seen anything like that with either ZF21 or ZF.2 21 on my D3. It is not impossible that I could provoke it, but I haven't seen it in normal shooting for a couple of years now.

Thanks, Fefo!

Thanks Robert, morty and rico! No I did not remove any vignetting, I am more prone to add such things (although more seldom nowadays).

Rscheffler, I dont know if its of any interest, but since I am looking on Leitaxing at least two of my CY's I noticed this text on the Canonpage, check the third paragraph.
http://www.leitax.com/Zeiss-Contax-lenses-for-Canon-cameras.html

Not that I know it, but since they talk about it I guess it could have been an issue once..

Here's a wideopen shot again with the CY 100/2.

It's a crop, the seagull is in center of the original shot. The bird is in good focus though not perfect, perhaps 10 mm off if I should guess. What I find curious is that some of the doves (the far left two) are quite in good focus too. They're much closer.

This may be a stupid question, but this must be strong field curvature going on, right? Since I focus through a precision matte (EG-S) - I can set focus in any part of the screen. As I rarely shoot flat objects I simply dont bother too much about things like field curvature. But here it shows up as a quite odd effect, if it is?

Superficially it looks like, but I wonder. That is quite a bit of curvature for a 100... Maybe the plane of focus is slightly closer than the gull, and the pigeon is slightly farther away than it looks due to the arrangement of the other pigeons?

Is it because you are shooting very slightly downward, meaning that the plane of focus is closer on the lower steps?

I bet all things considered they are in the same plane of focus, I think that is too much curvature for a 100 prime. 3-4 of the pigeons are in better focus and they are behind the others.

I bet that is the reason. It is more than a slight tilt though, considering the crop.

Thanks. I think you all are right, it's a mixture of a number of phenomenons going on. Also, I did straighten the image - and the result is probably also contributing to the tilt/shifted curvature - heres the full image, un-cropped and un-straightened.

Right! Here's another CY 100/2 observation from same minutes. Distance is about 2m and the average DOF calc says DOF is about 5 cm. I'd say it's more like 1 cm for this lens - for a webres image here at FM. Also notice the 0 vignetting in this wideopen shot.

(could have been a good dove shot with a tasteful crop if I hadnt cut the feet, this is SOOC)

Nice rendering on that lens. I wish I had access to one to compare to my 100MP.
