Great shots and nice bike set up, Beemer. I love th focus, is it all manual focus?
I'm pretty intimidated by MF, lacking confidence, etc. I've been moving the AF focus point around a bit... Maybe I need to invest some time and get some practice.
Nope, all center-point AF-S, focus/recompose. I am so used to that technique from all my other SLR shooting that it's hard to switch. I need to start practicing MF as well however.
In decent light, though, the X100 AF is fast and accurate so I don't have any issues. In low light with low-contrast subjects, MF becomes much more important, and a skill I need to practice also!
Loving this camera though...I haven't shot much with my Nikon rig since this arrived, even for all its peculiarities.

Yes, I did, Reagan; it's a very nice addition; helps a whole lot to control the camera when moving it quickly from waist to eye height. It's pretty innocuous looking; mine is virtually identical in surface texture and color to the X100 top plate. I got mine from Dale Photo in Florida; prompt shipping, although UPS screwed it up at my end; took an extra day, but he, it's the Christmas rush time. I'm glad I got it.

Thanks Im doing a lot of comparison shots up against my 5DII, it holds up quite well. Im am planning on taking the X100 and a canon G12 overseas with me next year rather than carry my DSLRs around.
