That second shot is great... did the lens have any trouble nailing the auto-focus on that shot?

No, ez as pie. No front or back adjustment either. I would take a lot of these AF complaints w a grain of salt.Ive owned over 20 nikon lens that all focused perfect and didnt expect this one to become the first canon clunker.

Just ordered a 35 to add with the 24 and the 85. I couldn't resist any longer . Only time will tell if I keep all 3 or break up the mix.

I think you will be happy with the lens. It is very nice, but then I'm partial to that focal length. I haven't got the bug for the 24 yet.

I love the 24 and it has it's place for sure. I also feel most of my shots are inches away from my families face . I will give the 35 a shot. I think it may fill the gap. I cannot imagine selling the 24 or the 85 for that matter. I'm sure this 35 will complete the kit.

OK now that my purchase is paid and locked, let me share with those looking for a 35 1.4G. Gary's Camera & Digital in Indiana (Nikon USA dealer and do not deal grey market) has two more of these for $1679 BNIB. That is not a typo. They are great to deal with. http://garycameradigital.com/top-sellers/nikon-af-s-nikkor-35mm-f1-4g-lens.html I would call just to be safe and to lock the deal.

When I spoke with Mike at Gary's Camera he said he took off the free shipping after my sale. I know he was thinking about asking for a few more dollars and at $1699, I still would not hesitate a second. I was shocked that he had 3 in stock. Snatch them up people, lets go

I bought a 24 1.4G from Gary's Camera (Ebay) and they're great to deal with. They're also an authorized Nikon dealer.

Congrats on the 35G! I envy you recent pick ups.....

Thanks JR. I'm a little excited myself. Glad I got her as it seems the Nikon prices are on the rise.
