Does anyone have a definite date when the Nikon 35 mm 1.4 will be available?

I was at the PDN Photo Expo Plus show in NY on Thurs. They had a copy for display there. Very similar to the 24 1.4 in terms of build slightly smaller. The only input the Nikon reps had for availability was sometime in November. No firm date yet per the Nikon Professional Services reps.

Could you play with it or was it in a display case?

November would be awesome, but I wouldn't get my hopes up

I just got an email from Amazon tonight saying "Estimated arrival date: November 15 2010 - November 30 2010". I preordered very early, at 1:26am EST the night it was announced.

I already have one!!!

Okay, I do. Really. It's the AIS variety. I suppose that's not the one you're asking about though eh?

Thanks Brett. I've got my eye on that piece of glass, and am watching closely on the availability date. B&H last told me that Nikon had not yet given them a date yet, and everywhere I turn it seems nobody knows. Thanks for the insight.

Nikon had all of their gear available for you to handle and to mount on to the various Nikon bodies. The 35 1.4 was slightly smaller than the 24 1.4 with basically the same design. Felt great and balanced very nicely on a D700. Off the top of my head I think it has a smaller filter size than 77mm. Other than that we'll see when it get's released how it performs. I'm assuming based on the reviews of the new 85 1.4 and the 24 1.4 it will be a very high demand lens.

I also preordered on the night of announcement. I got an estimated date as Nov. 15th, (no date range). So hoping this would turn out to be accurate.

This is an amazing lens

I was able to try one out on a D7000 the other day and beautiful color, bokeh and contrast !

Would love to buy one but will have to wait a while.

Some of the smaller start up delivery guys do. I work in aviation and we constantly get parts delivered on Sundays. I dont believe UPS/FEDEX does.

The link to the non-mobile version will work better for most folks.

I'm not sure why anyone would think those look horrible.

+1. Also, it's three shots. Not the largest sample size ever seen of any lens.
