I have really started to like Contax Vario-Sonnar T* 80-200, very compact and lightweight tele.

Around 80mm:

Somewhere around 150-200mm:

Hi Jaan, you have a nice backup strategy

PS, I get a link to your site, is it meant that way or am I supposed to see one image here? I guess all of them are made with the Planar?

Hi Andi, yes I have strategy as you know
This picture (not managed to display it here however) and few more . I have and had lot of other lenses but this is "signature" lens for me, yet learning to use it.

Edit: managed to display photo
Why this snapshot- if there any hint of color, it can pass it on

Andi,

Is that 85/1.2 shot wide open?
Wonder how you compare that lens to the N 85?
Did you finally sell the 50 Jahre?

I guess it is about f1.4 or wide open.

All I know is that I wanted the N for the AF, no hands on report though. As a lens nerd you have to get both, Wayne.

The Contax sold within a couple of days to a buyer who already posted a fine image here, but I am not going to say who it is. :-). It is quite normal that people who buy this stuff ask a couple of questions before they throw the money after you.

at this focus distance the quality is obvious

I am running a monitor calibration, maybe the colour it is not quite correct

I recently managed to track down a CZ 35-70/3.4, and wow. Prime like resolution throughout the entire zoom range, and a neato macro feature to boot.

That unique Sonnar look, what does it makes so special?
This very smooth transition between IF and OOF?

C/Y 35-70 on 5D. Used to be my favorite till I got the Contax 24-85.

And C/Y 28/2.8 on 5D.
