My dad is gonna be in the states in a couple weeks, in Atlanta.
Anyone know of a good place to buy the Canon 7D nearby Emory University?

Showcase Photo is about the only place left carrying them (it is maybe 10 minutes away tops - http://www.showcaseinc.com/store/Scripts/default.asp). Though, KEH is in town so you can order over the phone and pick-up the next day (they are on the west side of the city). I would strongly suggest ordering online to save the 7% tax and the incidental price hike of Showcase, though.

If I order online, can I get international warranty?
I'm gonna be using it in Israel, so I'd like to be able to fix it if anything happens to it.

Avihai, most likely the warranty won't work in Israel.

A representative of the local Canon Office told me the warranty is valid if the warranty papers mention (explicitly) the Canon Service office where you send the camera. You also need the invoice (or similar proof of purchase).

Check your local Canon representative for accurate information.

In my particular case (see country), the best place to buy a Canon camera and still enjoy warranty is Netherlands. Germany comes close

When I lived in Atlanta (05-07) there were a number of Wolf Camera shops. There was one in the Virginia Highlands area and another in Buckhead, and maybe one more in the Lennox Square Mall.

There's PPR where I would sometimes go to rent gear. I believe they also do sales. It's about 15 min away from Emory. If your dad'll have a place in Atlanta, how 'bout ordering online from B&H ahead of time and having it shipped to wherever your he'll be when he gets there?

Getting the camera itself is much cheaper in the states.
If I buy it in Israel I can buy an extension of warranty. Something like this could not be done if I buy it at a store in the states?

It doesn't seem B&H has an option like that. Neither does Wolf Camera.
