Prefer no grip, don't mind non-pro weather seal, must have better AF, large VF, IR flash control, auto ISO of 1Div (does 7D have that?). Would have bought that last year for $3500.

7D has auto ISO identical to the 1D4 but the difference is the ISO range.

Although it's probably a little to close to the 1D Mark IV's release, I think they might release the 1Ds Mark IV.

I hope not. Let Canon shake the bugs out in the 1D Mk IV model before introducing the top of the line 1Ds Mk IV.

Yes, I'm doubtful about it too, but there's always a small chance, and it's getting bigger as the time goes on.

This may be relevant.

I've been talking with Canon about buying a replacement for a dead Digital Rebel XT under the Canon Loyalty Program. The only two dSLR bodies they have right now are the 50D and the XS. So I'd guess that those are the two products that are about to be superceded.

Hi

I would like to have a 400mm 5.6 IS or 500mm 5.6 IS, I had the 500mm f/4 and sold it because it was to heavy.

What about a 120-300 F2.8 or a 200-400 F4.00? Both lenses exist, Sigma and Nikon,
either would make me a happy bunny, once i'd got over the price!

Would you pay $3500 for a 5D2 + a several extra AF sensors. ...no grip, no weather sealing, no 100% view finder. What you talking about is a 5D mkIII not a 3D. 5D2 + 7D = 5D3

With Canon's history your going to see a 1DmkIIN + 50D = 3D.

What happened to the weather sealing? 7D is sealed to the same extent as the EOS 1N according to Canon.

how about either a 60d.. or an updated 7d Mk 1.. with the ability to use both CF and SD cards for those of us moving up from the Xsi class--gotta do something with my dozen or more SD cards I have --- similar to what Nikon did with their d300s.. don't need video although that's a hot marketing item these days..

as for lenses.. an updated 100-400is without the push/pull zoom.. get with it Canon.. and a 400is

geez come to think of it.. I'm not asking for much from Canon.. just to get with it and 'ketchup' to Nikon... I really don't want to switch

seriously Canon needs a 3D to fill in the gap between the 5dmk2 and 1DSmk4

How many non-pros are going to schlepp up almost $9K for the 1Ds IV I wonder? It'll be the dearest s yet. This is why we need 5D III and/or 3D for a serious alternative FF.

If it is a multiple announcement, I don't think it'll be the DsIV. I think there will be much fanfare when that arrives.

Is a 5DmIIn out of the question? Same sensor with the 7D upgrades to AF, metering, blah, blah, blah. 60D seems possible, but how much more are they going to pump into the xxD series now that the 7D hasn't belly-flopped? A new Rebel seems like a given.

I'd take one. Doesn't need 8 fps. 5 fps would do. I would sell off my D700 setup to go back to Canon for this camera (or two )

Actually, a 3D with 7D AF, metering, and pop-up flash, and 16-18 MPs FF would do the trick. The problem is how much would a 3D configured like this kill sales of both the 7D and the 5D2?

I wouldn't mind a good 24-70L IS, but because it's been rumored
for at least 3 years, it probably won't happen again.
And if it does, it's not gonna be better, it's gonna be exactly the same + IS
(look at 100L macro IS). So probably nothing to get excited about...
I don't really need anything from Canon anymore, my 5D MkII is a fine camera
and I sold all my Canon lenses recently.

Ahhhh... the illusive 3D... bring it on

I'd say $9K is a pretty hefty price tag even for many pros. Arghhhh!
