50MP vs. 50P

I have the Contax 50P and recently bought the ZE MP. My wife usually fights me on lens purchases, because she is the more practical one. I told her I would likely sell the 50P to restore some cash to the wallet. She asked to see images from both. I showed her some. She replied, "you can't sell that lens. the two are totally different in how they look."

If she can see it...

I love both, use both. I prefer the 50MP for its versatility and macro capability. The 3D and subtlety are better on the 50P. It is not as large a difference as between the two ZE 35s, but they do differ.

I asked about the rangefinder planar, which like the MP has a maximum aperture of f2. I am aware of how the contax planar renders as I have used the 1.4 and owned the 1.7, but that is not a relevant issue to me.

very few people have owned the ZM planar AND the MP it seems.

Thanks everyone...the seattle sunrise shot with the space needle was 5 vertical 100mm makro planar shots. The seattle sunset with the vivid clouds was 9 vertical 100mm makro planar shots. The night shot was 3 horizontal cy 50mm 1.4 shots. All stitched in CS5 photomerge
