Btw, it's funny you should reflect on this as it is something I've done as well. In rhetoric there's this thing called Ethos and in part that includes how you present yourself e.g. dress. People nowadays are very weary about strangers taking their photo (which is a paradox as we've never been surveilled as much as we are now). The way I dress can either increase or decrease this feeling. A side effect of this is that I'm very envious of women in this respect, I believe they have a lead coming out of the gates; they are seldom seen as hostile or creepy, they seldom pose a physical or cultural threat etc If I wanted to take a photo of a kid in a situation on the street, I'd think twice before doing so (I hate this aspect of current society), but a woman wouldn't be vilified to the same extent.

You know those rubber chickens ...?
And you remember those fake dog leashes with just the dog collar ...?
Well I was thinking of fixing one of those leashes to my belt buckle and hanging a rubber chicken from it.
If you like I can make one for you.

Why aren't more women into street photograhy??

Dunno, do you think maybe the rubber chicken is too much.

How about you put the collar around your neck and the chicken holding it?

Great images over the last few pages as usual, to mention a few:

dupaiphils and Rodluvans informal portraits are always great (and very different)
Proseps macros from the 100MP are impressing, the spiderweb is my favourite.
Diploneis fall scenery is pure magic, #3 is may favourite.
Ronny Olssons flowers just keep getting better.
OneAnts streets scenes always surprises, exentric lady in car my fav.
Bobs staged band shots are cool.
Smirdevan - lots of fresh air in your last set.
darbo - really great colours from the 1.4/35 and 2/25
akul - two great sets of fall colours, #1 in the first set my fav.
PictureThis - great simplicity and beautiful blues.

Iīm familiarising myself to the wide angle view of my 2.8/21 this month, with the ambition to make one picture almost every day using only this lens. Thematically they might be inspired by akulīs urban images. Some results so far:

The rest of the 21x21mm set can be seen on my flickrstream.

Darbo - Really nice color on your set from 25 f2 and 35 f1.4 Love the #1

Picture this - Nice silhouette. I like the drama.

twoeye- A fine set with 21. Love the light and composition. Great perspective on the #2. I was near by a similar setup this weekend, and I really wanted to shoot it but could not get to it.

prosep - Superb BW on the closeups. They look really good.

Tanks everyone for comments!

Z -great car portraits of beautiful cars. Excellent colour!
Jochenb - good dog potrait, I think the low-key simpification works quite well here with just enough details in the darks to outline the shape of the body. Beautiful eyes!
alkanphel - great colours!

Regarding the 2.8/21 I find it a pleasure to work with, giving lots of detail, clarity and really good colours. But I find the focal length challenging, having used the 35mm as my work horse for some time. The wide field of view takes in a lot, which very often makes compostions difficult. Also, I find myself trying to keep verticals straight which I think I have to let go of working with this lens.

Thanks Twoeye.
Your feeling about the 21 is the same as mine. 21mm can indeed be challenging and I'm also looking at the verticals all the time. I guess that's because I also had the TS-E24II in the past.

Whoa - some serious good stuff on this page.

Jochenb - love the dog portrait!

I'm trying to decide between these two shot tonight with the 21 Distagon.

Likeutenant - Fantastic car shots. Especially #1. Great framing, color.

Jochen - Very nice portrait of your dog.

alkanphel - I really like the composition. Nice DOF and capture of light.

Bob - Superb set. My vote goes to the first one. I like the cloud is not too symmetrical on that olne.

rji2goleez, what's to decide? Had I taken the first one, I would have been delighted with it. But the second is better yet.
