Doing some shots of the kids for a family x-mas card and decided to get in front of the camera for a bit.

50 1.4 at 5.6 for 1/60. Using 2 hot lights: 1 with umbrella over and right of camera. 1 on BG, from which I am getting a bit of spill (could be my fill reflector though). What's the best way to solve that? Just move forward?

C&C always welcomed.

Hi,

I suggest cropping this image because of the shown composition and pose..

Here is why:

As shown the image has a lot of ARM and LEG close to the camera and they look huge the closer they are to the lens. This gives the "Popeye Arms" look (huge forearms).

Notice how your forearms look almost TWICE the size of your biceps (upper arms).

With your knees positioned as they are and with the tight composition you have here, your lower body looks about 5 feet wide (illusion) because of the closeness to the lens.

Avoid that different ways (too much to type now).

To solve it now, since the picture is done, simply crop to eliminate the big bulky look of the hands/forearms/knees.

I hope that helps you.

?+1 on the crop, and I don't like the pink/red hue
