Does anyone know if there are any available anywhere in the UK. I've had one on order from Jacobs for the best part of eight weeks now and they are unable to tell me when - indeed - if it will ever arrive at all. (They're pretty scathing about Canon UK's information flow too...) Does anyone know if there is anywhere with these in stock ?

And, just for my curiousity, why is Canon UK so hopeless about informing retailers about when stock is due ?

I had to wait around 6 months for mine to arrive. I bought it from warehouse express and they mentioned that the lens was in very short supply. I was well worth the wait though!

well, I'm wanting one, but gonna wait until january. That said, there's several available in a shop about 3 minutes away from my house

Have you tried Park Cameras or Mifsuds? Neither of them is showing as out of stock, so they may be worth a call.

Called them. What they show on their website doesn't reflect reality. They've had "loads on order for ages" - but have no idea when they might get any stock. Come on Canon.....

I got mine recently from Warehouse Express.

It was shown on back order for several weeks, then suddenly one day it was 'in stock', I ordered, and then within a few days it was back on back order.

Keep an eye on their website and they might get another batch in.

This lens is very hard to find in the UK, good luck.

Hmmm. Jacobs got one in about 4 months ago and I snapped it up because Donal told me they had only had four in a year. I suspect that Canon underestimated the importance of this lens to available light film-makers and so hasn't made enough of them.

they probably keep it short to keep the prices on level during the economic recession
