I had a mechanical engineer cut it open for me.

The from-the-outside shot is about 1:2. The inside shot is about 2:1.

Thanks. I tried to light the cutaway shot for texture, but there's so little of it that it was hard to do. It was one of those shots that just don't turn out as I expect, unlike that second one, which was pretty much exactly what I had in mind.
