B&H now shows the new Zeiss 35mm f2 ZE lens in stock.

I am excited - this looks to be a very promising lens.

Been in stock elsewhere for quite a while but great news, be sure to share your shots when it arrives.

Good news! I should be receiving mine soon, then, and will report accordingly. I really missed having a lens in between my 21mm Distagon and my 50mm Planar.

Comparing apples to apples. The new price of a 35L at B & H today is $1,520. So the 35L is $650 more, so it is not really that close in price.

And the only place where the 35L can touch the ZE 35 is at f1.4. And that's only because the ZE 35 only goes to f2.0 (obviously).

indeeed. would be tough to sell it now cause it would be more expensive to try to buy one later on but at the same time i could probably sell it for more than what i paid for it a couple years ago for under $1000

Strange: it seems to be available, some members have claimed that they were getting one, but not one picture is posted, and mine is not about to get shipped, it seems... Stranger still, the 28 has been available for over a month, and not one picture posted, except that I did try one, so I know that it is not vapourware. Could it be that only the 21mm finds takers?

I might pick it up. Would love to see what Philippe finds out about it...
Hopefully before December 14th (price increase?)

Very nice. Smooth and not harsh at all.

One more question regarding ZE 35 availability. I don't question your info that it is in stock at B&H, of course, but I note that it is not in stock yet at the in-house Zeiss e-shop. Whereas other Zeiss ZE lenses have been available there at the same time as to the public. Furthermore, I got my 21 and 28 before the US did. Why should it be different this time?

Andrew, you are late. I ordered mine months ago That, however has nothing to do with getting one Last I heard, maybe a month ago, was that I should get mine at the end of November, which should be this week. Shall we say that whoever gets it last buys lunch or dinner when we meet? Of course, posting is what matters. Time differences shouldn't matter, so if we post on the same day (our local time and date), we call it a draw and each pay our way. Deal?

I thought you invited me already
I should be getting mine in a couple of days, is yours delayed somehow?

Yes, I invited you already. Does that mean that you are a man of but one meal? What is our world coming to? Where are the real men?
Regarding my lens, no sign as of yet.
Congratulations, Rapscallion & RickPerry. Lets see some pics. Somehow, I always expected this lens to shine for R&R...

Philippe, comme on, I thought you knew... Real men buy Zeiss manual lenses
I hope we'll have a chance to share more than one meal in Paris.
I'll bring all my glass and enough money for Guy Savoy

Hey, I am not a real man - in fact just a real Old man , so my question is: does this Zeiss ZE 35/2 has AF?
Thanks

Thanks Lotusm50, if you wanted to see a real old man crying, please let me borrow your Zeiss 35/f2 for few days so I can take some self-portrait of an old man crying...
Oh well, sound like I "have to" use my 16-35MK2 for a long while then until my next bonus round.

Sam
