Greetings All..... Here are some photos from this past weekend from the Aviation Nation Air show, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas. I'm still adjusting to my 7D and so far I've been very, very happy with the performance of this camera. The weather really helped a great deal as the low temperatures and windy conditions kept the heat waves away, and the blue sky never hurts.

My overall keeper rate was higher than usual with my 30D, and I never really had the opportunity to put my 50D through the high speed paces on an active air show to understand how it would fair.

These were all shot with my 100-400 L, some cropping and PPing in CS3. C&C's are always welcome.

very cool shots! If you could have slowed the shutter speed down a bit on #1 to show the rotation of the props i think it would have been a money shot! At the moment the props looks like they are frozen so it is a bit weird.

The F-16 would have benefitted from a slower speed too, it looks a bit static to me, hard to tell it was moving at all, whereas panning with a slower SS would have blurred the background.

It's only a matter of time before someone from the Mustangs Air to Air thread invites you to join them, when you post such great images as these, so come on over and join us! You'll fit right in

Tchan748.... agreed on the prop rotation as I do like the challenge of slower shutter speeds and showing prop movement. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Chris.... Yes, agreed on the static part and I'll continue to work on my panning technique. I've included a couple here from the same show.

Futurshox.... thanks for the invite and compliment. That is a great thread and I need to jump in.

Not very often I can find a photo op which provides a decent background by which to capture the exhaust gasses/heat.

Thanks Bill! The F-16 up against the mountains is turning into one of my favorites.

Thanks very much Leo, and given I now have 2 invitations to join the MAtA thread, how can I decline.

Thanks very much jojomon11 and Vk. Appreciate you taking the time to check out my pics. And the T-bird shot was made a bit easier by it being a landing, not a departure. Lots of aerodynamic braking going on.

I love the shot of the F16, also I'm always a sucker for the A10!
