First I'd like to say hello to everyone at FM,

So I've been away for most of the season of 09, with work or the lack of and the wettest year we have had in over 100 years, I have not had much of a chance to get any shots.

So after taking over 4000 shots with no keepers I decided that my gear had some problems and sent it in to have it checked, only to find it all was working just fine.

So I went to see my doctor and told her my problem, after several tests and then a few dozen more I was told that I'm going blind in both eyes, by spring of 2010 I will be almost totaly blind.

Of course my macro shooting was effected the most because as you all know we shoot in MF so it will suffer first .

I might be able to have some surgery to slow it down, but only a slight reprieve.

It's funny how you dont miss something till its gone, oh well

So enough with the tears here are a few water drop pic's I got the other day ....... hope they look good.

On another note don,t discount AF. It is much underrated IMO.

Thank you both, Kenny and Mark it's tough to get used to as I do alot more than just photo's, I do some target shooting long range 800 to 1000 yards and that will all come to an end but that is the way life goes we just have to deal with it the best we can.

Mark i will be useing AF alot more but still not sure how it will turn out with my macro shots. Hope some will be good lol.

I'm very saddened Doug and I'll be saying a few words on your behalf as well

My own eyesight is not good and I use a certain intuition, or zen if you like, an inner focus on the result I see enables the result without being able to actually see it. A oneness of vision in which the process is not seperate from the end. I had an early interest in the way of the samurai where the point of the arrow penetrating its intended target was one with the release of the string. A state of being in which the whole is seen all at once as opposed to a condition of mind in which the constituent parts are added together. You could say it's a matter of timing, time in which things happen in sequence, and not time in which all things happen as one. Mystical eh?
