The Pelicans and Ospreys are competing for the attention of local SoCal photographers of late.
Please forgive my long-winded post here. But, I finally got an Osprey to face me head-on so I'm kind of stoked about this.
#1 The start of some heavy lifting.

#2 Flaps up!

#3 I said ............... flaps UP!

#4 Darn! This guy is heavy!

#5 I'm going to need to work out more at the gym!

#6 Let's give it more wing and try this again!

#7 ARRGGGHHHH ................ I think I just threw my back out!

#8 Finally! I think I'm getting some air now.

#9 Lift-off at last!

#10 Hey! Stop being such a drag.

#11 Finally getting some air.

#12 Let's pick up some speed and get you home on the dinner table.

#13 Time for a "victory lap".

#14 Carry-out fast food. That's what I'm talking about!

Wow Ken! That is one fantastic series - How many holy grails do you have now? Great job on this one - I like them all. It's fun to see the progressive shots as the bird struggles with its prize.
