I just won a $600 amazon gift card for a photo i submitted to a local contest. I'am kind of at a loss as to how to spend the money (photo related). The front runner is a new LCD monitor to replace my aging 17" CRT. I'am really comnfused about which monitor (no the NEC 24" UXI is not possiable). It really looks like amazon does not have any good LCD's for photographers or am i missing something??

I have no clue about alternatives. I'am fairly set on the lens front for my nikons but any other suggestions?? I can't beleive it's this tough to spend some money!!

get something you would normaly not buy. that is what presents should do. Calibrating device and set of pro memory cards?

17" CRT That sounds like a very good candidate to replace with a LCD. Something in the 22" variety......

you can never have too many camera bags.

A good LCD monitor would be my first choice. If not, how about a carbon fiber tripod or a wimberley gimbal head?

I'am looking at the HP LP2475W which is in my price range. Anyone have any experience with this monitor? All i can compare against is the Apple cinema displays i've seen at the apple store (which look fantastic)
