Ok so you guys got me going now on the impressionism take of an image. So this just shows what a rookie I'm at it and I'm sure everyone's mileage will vary tremendously.

This is actually a water reflection from a Pond at Whatchom Falls park in Bellingham, WA.
In PP I flipped the image 180 CCW. Then levels. In Nik I used the Low Key Filter to darken and give it a little glow. Next on to OnOne Focal Point where I experimented with the motion Blur. Finally a selective color layer and here you have it.

Can't compare to the the impression work posted lately, but got me thinking and fun to try something different.

Thanks for taking the time to look

Cool work, Ray. I like this. Those really nice colors contrasting with the trunk of the tree turned out very nice.

Cheers,

Hello Ray, interesting use of the reflections. I probably wouldn't suggest this on a 'straight' presentation, but, since you were exercising artistic license anyway, maybe a bit less lightness on the tree trunks, and restore some texture

Ray this works really well. Good vision. This is another style of impressionism...I don't think you can compare the different styles. Again well done.

That's pretty cool, Ray. The blue is a little electric, but otherwise the colors are quite lovely in their distortions.

Great results Ray. And I like electric blue for the sky, gives it a strong "dusk" light effect.
