On Thursday, after a dismal rainy start to the day, I saw the weather start to break, so drove up to Balmaha at Loch Lomond, which is about a 30min drive from my home. I was rewarded with some great light & late autumnal colours.

Hi Alan ,

While the muted autumn colours and the ghostly-grey tree skeletons work well together , for me it is the boat with its vivid red cover that really brings this picture to life. I like the composition and restrained processing ; I'm glad you were able to catch this late scene before the wind and weather lower the winter curtain !

Hello, Alan. I love the lighting and comp on both of these. The golden glow in the water on the second is quite wonderful, and I might lean a tad toward favoring it over the first. But, not by much. Not certain if I like the inclusion of the large pink float in the foreground. Would be interested in comparing it against one without.

Lovely work.

Cheers,
Ed

Really liking the second one, Alan, I would crop down from the top to get rid of the dark spot in the upper left corner and pump up the yellow sat...my 2 cents

Works for me, you notice that both boats come in at about the rule of thirds .
