Some shots of tiny globular springtails all just under 1mm body length, grazing on a clay flowerpot. All taken at 5:1 and cropped a bit. Think this is Deuterosminthurus pallipes.

Mark - yes these have eye patches with I think 8 simple eyes in each patch. Odd thing is they can't see what they are eating

Matt- not too much looking for these - I made a sprintail habitat on a water barrel lid with an upturned clay pot on some damp filter matting. Just a case of spotting moving bits of dirt
