Hey guys, looking for a little help. I'm looking to put together my first digital slide show, a presentation which I'll be showing to a group of friends. This is the first time we'll have had access to a digital projector. I'm looking for some suggestions for a decent program to use. Since this is the first time I'll have done a digital show I don't need to do anything fancy, I just need to be able to put together a show that I can burn to disk to take to the event. Thanks! |

If you will burn it to a CD or DVD that then plays in a computer that's hooked to the projector (I've never done that) one very easy & free solution is Picasa which is both an organizer & editing program. When using Picasa one of the options is to make a GIFT CD (or DVD) and when you choose that option you then are asked if you'd like to include a slideshow. You can select to make more than 1 album on the disk if it's large enough, and then you select which album to play from the opening screen. Some regular DVD players can also play the CD's or DVD's burned this way, but not all of them will. |

Two free programs that make decent, no frills, slideshows are XnView and FastStone Image Viewer. At the other end of the scale is ProShow Gold. |
