2 is way better for me and a nice compositon and interests. The horizon is in the right spot and the lines lead you into the background. Cropping a bit more off the bottom might improve. However for me the the fence on the left and the shiny stuff behind the fence on the right detract for me and would stop me from hanging on my wall.

1 for me would be better in a pano crop with lots off bottom and a bit off the top because the bottom has little features and the picture would work better with the bird at 2/3.

I like both of these very much. You've taken a normal scene and shown us how special it could be, which I think is the hardest thing to do.

I also like this second shot. And, I enjoy the lit lamp post with the ominous sky in the background. But I will second Scott's objection. I think I would clone out that truck..
